About Dr. Shepel

Dr. Tatyana Shepel provides psychological and neuropsychological assessment services for children age 7 and older and adults through age 65. Her practice emphasizes careful clarification of the referral question, individualized assessment, and practical recommendations that can be used by clients, families, treating professionals, schools, and referring agencies.
Education & Training
Dr. Shepel holds an M.A. in Psychology and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Seattle. She subsequently completed a two-year postdoctoral certification program in neuropsychology at Fielding Graduate University in California.
Populations Served
The practice serves individuals from varied cultural and life backgrounds, including immigrant populations. Referrals may come from psychiatrists, primary care providers, mental health therapists, schools, attorneys and courts, and other professionals. Dr. Shepel also works with Washington State DCYF clients and juvenile clients when psychological or neuropsychological evaluation is requested.
Assessment Approach
Each evaluation is organized around the specific referral questions rather than a one-size-fits-all testing battery. Findings are considered in the context of the clinical interview, behavioral observations, test performance, available records, and collateral information when appropriate.
